The 2019 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child, and infant patients. Consistent with the 2015 AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration, practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem-solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. The online portion of the BLS course features adaptive learning technology which offers a personalized learning experience for participants. Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course before attending the in-person skills set.
Students who successfully complete this course will receive an American Red Cross Certificate for Basic Life Support (BLS) valid for 2 years. Meets OSHA and Workplace Requirements.
This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. Depending on your experience, please allow approximately 45 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital certificate for Basic Life Support For Healthcare Providers valid for two years. The online portion MUST be completed PRIOR to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection.
Note: There is a minimum requirement of 3 for this class, required by the American Red Cross. If the minimum does not get met, the class will be canceled and you will have the choice to reschedule or receive a full refund. I give as much notice as possible to inform the students if the class will be canceled, yet leaving enough time for the minimum to be met.
